Endosys CAREKIT™ SYSTEM
Endosys CareKIT™ is a versatile system for organizing and protecting surgical instruments and implants. Designed to meet both the growing trend toward standardization of instrument sets as per Procedures and your individualized surgical needs, the CareKIT system can be self customized to all specialities.
General Instrument Trays are available in many sizes, and can be used alone or stacked in a base tray in many different arrangements, allowing you to organize instrument sets as per the procedure/departments, with Silicon mat and protective caps.
Different kind of holders, instrument holding bridges and DuraMAT silicone mats fit into the CareKIT tray to secure each instrument. These accessories can be easily be customized to place the instruments to form a set.
The CareKIT System is an economical solution for any size of operations.
Efficiencies in the operating room are realized because instruments arrive at their point of use in a consistent arrangement that is universal to all services.
In addition, sterilization and processing time is reduced as general principles of set preparation are integrated into the total system needs of your facility.
Made of advanced Medpoly™ polymer materials, their unique chemistry gives these lightweight CareKIT trays extraordinary strength and endurance.
Designed to hold up under the extreme rigors of hospital processing, the CareKIT system can withstand repeated exposure to Steam, ETO, Plasma and cold sterilizing solutions.
Customisation of Multispeciality CareKIT Trays
The components of the CareKIT System have been designed to create a virtually unlimited number of tray configurations. However you combine these components, the three common goals of instrument preparation are:
Ensure Full Sterilization of the Instrumentation.
Extreme care for your well crafted instruments
Ease of use of the Instruments in the OT operating room
Valuable time has to be conserved with proper organized handling of the Instruments.
Packaging of Trays
The CareKIT™ System has been sized to fit and can be wrapped in either reusable or disposable CSR wraps.
Assembling of Trays & Sterilization
All CareKIT™ trays, lids, Easy-Hold Silicon holders, Instrument holding racks and silicone finger mats should be inspected following decontamination.
All visible soil and debris has to be removed — Always check around the attached bracket.
Following manufacturers’ instructions, all instruments should be checked for cleanliness and correct operation before being placed in the customized CareKIT tray.
Once cleaned, prepared and packaged, the CareKIT trays are ready to be sterilized. The system is made to withstand repeated exposure to steam, Ethylene oxide, and cold sterilizing solutions.
When preparing trays it is important to remember that the sterilant must be able to contact the instrument, so there must be space between the instrument and any holding device, especially the slotted silicone instrument holders.
Inner Trays
The Inner trays may be used separately with a lid, or may be combined with the base tray in a variety of configurations. Normally, a base tray unit is used in combination with any of the inner trays, or the metal instrument holding rack, to create layers that will organize and protect the instruments in each set.
Illustration of Lids
Latched lids are provided in both flat and extended designs. They are available for the base unit and the inner trays.
Silicone Finger Mats
To improve sterilant penetration, the system’s silicone finger mats are designed with holes that match up to the perforations in their corresponding trays. Whenever possible, the finger mats should be used without modification; however, if an instrument will not lay properly in the fingers, they can be cut to allow secure placement.
INSTRUMENT SETS
The following examples are provided to help you understand the use and many configuration possibilities of the CareKIT system. From this starting point, you will find it easy to create other configurations for your specific needs. For any set DuraMAT, silicone finger mat and a metal instrument holder are used to organize the set.
INSTRUMENT SETS
The following examples are provided to help you understand the use and many configuration possibilities of the CareKIT Autoclavable Polymer Sterilixation tray system. From this starting point, you will find it easy to create other configurations for your specific needs. For any set DuraMAT, silicone finger mat and a metal instrument holder are used to organize the set.
Laparoscopy Set
A. Base Tray
A silicone finger mat is used to organize the trocars and other instruments. Four PLUS brackets are attached to ends of the base tray to raise the metal holding rack and provide the necessary clearance for the instrument handles.
B. Metal Instrument holding rack
Sitting on the PLUS brackets inside the base tray, the metal instrument holding rack holds, stabilizes and protects the remaining laparoscopic instruments.
Orthopedics Set
Power Drills and Saws
A.Four PLUS brackets are attached to the end of the base tray to hold the inner tray.
B.10" x 10" Inner Tray along with DuraMAT, silicone finger mat is used to stabilize and protect the saw motor and components.
Arthroscopy Set
A.DuraMAT, silicone finger mat is used to stabilize and protect the knives and needle scope. Four PLUS brackets are attached to the tray ends.
B.The metal instrument holding rack is used to organize and protect the hand instruments. Two 12-slot silicone instrument holders are used to hold the ring handled instruments. One 12-slot silicone instrument holder and one blank silicone instrument holder are used to hold the spring handled instruments.
The four PLUS brackets are used to raise the metal holding rack to provide enough space for the instrument handles. An extended lid is required for this set.
ENT Set
A. On the bottom layer, a silicone finger mat is used to stabilize and protect the knives and curettes. An extended lid is required for this set.
B. The metal instrument holding rack and two 12-slot silicone instrument holders are used to organize and protect the ring handled instruments.
Vascular Set
A. Base Tray
The vascular clamps are organized so that each style can be quickly found — no unstringing or moving one clamp to get to the one needed is necessary. Posts are used to stabilize and protect the instruments. Two PLUS brackets are attached to each end of the base tray to hold the Inner tray above the instruments.
B. 10" x 20" Inner Tray
Vascular needle holders are separated into fine tip and Ryder types, and are stabilized with posts. Two instrument holding bars with slotted silicone instrument holders are used to stabilize and protect the Potts-Smith Scissors and endarterectomy blades.
Major Dissection Tray
A. Base Tray
Retractors are placed in the base tray. Four PLUS brackets are attached to the ends of the tray.
B. 10" x 20" Inner Tray
Two posts are used to stabilize the scissors and protect the cutting edge of the blades. Another post is used to stabilize the knife handles. The forceps and strung instruments are also placed in the tray.

10 Reasons Why Use POLYMER Sterilization Trays Rather than METAL Trays To Protect Your Surgical Instruments?
Sterilization Trays are usually made out of either polymer or stainless steel. The choice of material used has a significant impact. Some materials are better suited for ensuring durability, useful life, and ease of sanitation than others. A polymer sterilization tray is better……..Lets Find Out WHY??????
POLYMER TRAY | METAL TRAY |
